Bronx Zoo

I finally went to Bronx Zoo with my fiancée and we had a really good time. We started off having breakfast at Dunkin Donuts which, by the way, wasn’t so great. The bread was too dry and the iced coffee I had didn’t taste that good.

I don’t think that is a fair description of Dunkin Donuts though because I normally like their food and beverages, especially the donuts.

On Wednesdays, Bronx Zoo has donation day. That means that people can donate the amount they believe is reasonable. My fiancée and I were really lucky because just when it was our turn to pay, the cashier let us in because she wanted to count everyone so we didn’t have to pay anything.

They have a recommended rate of $15 per person and the minimum recommended rate is $5. I was prepared to pay the $5 but I never had to.

The zoo is amazing and really big. We spent five hours there and we didn’t have the time to see everything. My priority was to see the lions and the tigers because I have never seen that before.

There were a lot of people, which got a little annoying from time to time, but it was alright. I took many great shots with my camera and the experience of being there was really nice.

It takes a while to get there because it is pretty far into Bronx. I seriously believe that the air is better in Bronx than in the rest of New York City. When we got off the train, we felt the change in air quality right away. People will probably think I am joking about that but I am actually serious.

The lions were really far away from the viewpoint, which was a little disappointing but at least I saw them. The tigers got really close and there was glass separating the tigers from the people so it was easy to see them.

We also saw sea lions, birds, giraffes, bears, and a lot more. One thing that really surprised me was that they had a polar bear there. I have never seen that and I didn’t know that they could enjoy the weather climate over here.

My fiancée and I got really hungry today though and the food at Bronx Zoo is crazy expensive. We will definitely bring our own food the next time we will go there. A lot of people do exactly that actually.

I am really happy with the trip because I have been talking about it for very long. The subway ride there went a lot better than the last time too and on our way back we had some McDonald’s food to please our stomachs.

I have a test tomorrow so I have to study for that. I haven’t studied too much these days but I think I know most of it. I will keep you posted about the results.
