Spelling Competition

I got back my math test this Wednesday. I got 95 out of 100 and that definitely feels good. I really despise math and to get that score boosts my confidence a little. My girlfriend is always there for me and helps me with math if I need it. She is really good at it and it feels so good that she can help me.

I have the television on right now and there is some kind of spelling competition showing. That really feels American because I have never seen anything like it in Sweden. I guess the kids are about 10 years old and they are really intelligent. The words are not only hard to spell, but they are also complicated in the matter of what they mean.

I thought I was going to get back my English paper last Wednesday but the teacher didn’t correct them. I was a little disappointed about that actually, but at least we will get it back on Monday. They weather is still really warm here but I am getting used to it. I might still buy an air conditioner though.

I cleaned the kitchen two days ago. I just have to tell you guys about the chemical I used. The wall was really greasy and normal chemicals wouldn’t work. The one I used is called “Easy Off” and you just spray it on the wall and wait for about five minutes. After that you can just wipe it clean really easy. It’s totally amazing and the kitchen looks really good now.

I will study for my accounting test on Thursday this weekend. I think I will be able to figure out everything, especially since I have so many days to study. I don’t have much else to do in school that week.

I don’t even have English quizzes anymore. We have had twelve quizzes now so the teacher won’t give them out anymore. We will get our average score next week. I think I will have a nine out of ten average or something like that. It’s definitely an A anyway.

I’m thinking about buying a new computer. I am so tired of the laptop I use now. It gets really warm, especially during the summer. I have to use a laptop cooler to make it colder. The laptop cooler I have is a kind of mat that you place in the freezer and then you place the computer on it.

If you place your hand on the bottom side of it after it has run for about two hours, you will burn yourself. It’s that hot! It will also shut down by itself if I don’t cool it down. I’m a little tempted in buying a MacBook laptop.

They are great in size and performance and they look good. The only thing I worry a little about is the compatibility issues. I don’t think that will a problem though since I only need it for typing, internet, and emailing. Microsoft Office is also available for Mac and that’s great. Without that I wouldn’t buy it.

If you are a student at Berkeley College, you will also get a student discount on $100. That is really good and I appreciate that a lot.

I bought cereal today. It was a really long time ago I had that so I really enjoyed it when I ate it today. I bought the Kellogg’s Red Berries, and I think that must be my favorite. It’s a little expensive but it’s worth it. It costs about $5.

It’s pretty noticeable that the food prices are going up right now. I bought some chicken and paid several dollars more than usual. It’s not only in the United States though, even in Sweden it’s going up. It doesn’t really affect me that much actually but it’s still a little painful to see the prices go up. I believe and hope that the prices will go down soon!

How to take a picture of London from New York

Yesterday was Memorial Day, and I think it’s a great holiday. It gives people time to think about the troops that have and are serving this country. Many people were celebrating the day but most people stayed home instead of travelling because of the fuel prices.

It was a really hot day and many people went to the beach. Brighton Beach was packed with people. I went to Brooklyn Bridge to check out the huge telescope that connects London with New York. The picture is from there and I really recommend people to go there.

It’s an amazing sight actually. From what I have understood, there is some sort of transatlantic tunnel connecting two telescopes. One is located in London and the other one is in New York. It’s not using satellites or anything so it’s not cheating in that matter. It is supposed to be a real telescope with mirrors and other high-tech equipment.

The line wasn’t that long either so it was actually really enjoyable to go there. The line to the ice cream shop was twice as long actually. It was really cool to see London from New York and I saw some kids waving and dancing.

It was raining there, of course, but they seemed to be happy anyway. The picture is really clear too. I actually thought it was going to be pretty difficult to see people there but the size of the telescope is huge so it’s no problem.

I did some homework today. I finished my marketing assignments and my math homework. It feels good to have done that. I have a test in accounting next Thursday so I have to study this weekend for it. I don’t really know everything in the chapters yet so I have to go through it thoroughly.

It’s really warm these days. I’m seriously thinking about buying an air condition system now. I want to go pick one out with my girlfriend so when she’s available, we will probably go.

I have a quiz in English tomorrow. The short story we read now is called “I stand here ironing” and it’s written by Tillie Olsen. I’m not very fond of what we read in that class. The stories are always very depressing in some way and I’m tired of reading sad stories.

I want to read about happiness and success and things that will motivate me. I don’t want to read about things that might make me feel down.

Berkeley College has three different buildings in Midtown Manhattan right now. They will move out from one of the buildings and that is a great decision. That building is a little older than the other ones and the desks are terrible.

The new buildings are excellent and from the next quarter, we will only have classes in those two buildings. I’m really looking forward to that actually. Next quarter will probably be a lot calmer too with fewer students. Many students take the summer quarter off. I won’t do that though because I want to finish as early as possible.

Long walks

I started taking long walks now instead of going to the gym. It feels really good actually and I enjoy discovering new areas of this neighborhood. Last Friday and yesterday, I took a walk to a grocery store about half an hour away from my apartment.

I had walked there before but I took a different way this time. There are some really beautiful areas on the way there and I didn’t know that actually. I didn’t bring my camera but I might bring it the next time I have to buy groceries.

My girlfriend and I will probably walk there a lot in the future since she will start walking with me. I think it’s a good idea to walk to areas like that instead of taking the train everywhere. You get to see places and you get some really good exercise.

I cleaned the bathroom yesterday. It was pretty dirty so I went to a drugstore and bought a new broom and a large sponge. I think it took about an hour to clean it even though it is really small. It got very clean though and it was totally worth it.

There are some commercials on television introducing some kind of steam cleaner. It seems to be really good actually and I have been thinking about buying it. I don’t know yet though. I also saw another steam tool, but you use it on cloths instead. It is meant to replace ironing and it seems to be really good actually.

I might check that out because I never iron my shirts and this tool seems to be really easy to use. I need to do some homework today. I’m thinking about finishing all my marketing assignments and email them to my teacher. If we email them to him before the due date we will get extra credits.

I don’t really need extra credits since I have gotten full score on the tests. However, I always do the homework before we are supposed to turn it in, so I think it’s a good idea to do that.

I bought ice cream yesterday and I ate most of it right after I bought it. I felt pretty bad last night and when I woke up today. I don’t think I will eat ice cream in a while now. I tried a new taste that is called banana split. It’s a mix of strawberry, banana, and chocolate. It also contains some peanuts and chocolate sauce.

There are lots of commercials about the new movie “Indiana Jones,” with Harrison Ford. It will probably bring in plenty of money and I might go see it myself. I think it’s a movie you rather see in a theater than at home. It seems to be very spectacular.

I will also do some accounting today and try to finish up most of my homework for next week. I am free tomorrow because of Memorial Day and I might go out to take some picture. There is a huge telescope in Brooklyn close to the Brooklyn Bridge. It has been adjusted to London so you can actually see people in London when you look in it.

I have seen this on the news and there are people waving to each other. I guess they have a similar telescope in London. It looks awesome so I might go there and check it out. I’ll take some pictures if I do so that I can let you see what it looks like.

Math test

I had a midterm in math yesterday. I did not study for it that much because I felt that I knew most of it. However, there was one type of question that confused me. I don’t really know what that type of math is called but it’s about calculating x.

I have no problems calculating equations and factorizations and so on, but I found this type of questions hard. One thing that made me a little frustrated was that we had to stay after the test to have lecture for about an hour.

This wasn’t the teachers fault though. I asked him if we could have the test before the lecture and he said we could vote for it. The majority of the class said they wanted the test first. I really don’t understand this decision but there was nothing I could do about it.

I don’t think I want to do anything about it either though, after all, it is democracy. I did all the questions on the test and I felt good about it. There was one question that was of the type that I previously explained. I tried doing it and I came up with an answer. I really can’t say if it was right though.

I think I will get a few credits at least since I tried. All the other problems felt somewhat easy and I should end up with an A. It doesn’t matter though, since this class won’t affect my GPA. I need to get a passing grade and that it.

After my math class, my friend asked me if I wanted to have a beer and watch the premier league. It was a while since I talked to him and even longer since I had a beer. There is a great bar just next to Berkeley College. It is located between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue, on 41st street.

We went there and saw the final between Manchester United and Chelsea. I am talking about soccer by the way. I am not really into soccer but it’s nice to just watch sports and talk. We also ordered some launch which for me consisted of a cheeseburger with fries. It was actually really taste.

I think that bar food is pretty underestimated. This cheeseburger was one of the best. Maybe it was because I had had a few beers before. I only had an accounting class today. My computer class was cancelled because my teacher was ill. It was pretty nice to get away early actually.

I have a weekend again and that feels okay. I won’t do too much either. I need to do two big marketing assignments and some accounting. I also have to read a short story in English as usual. I don’t think I need more than one day to do this though.

There will be some activities in South Manhattan this weekend. As I mentioned before, people celebrate the birthday of Brooklyn Bridge. I saw on the news yesterday that they actually change the lights that are set up on the bridge.

The lights look really nice actually and I am thinking about going there to take some pictures. I am not sure if they will keep that lightning in the future or if it’s only for the birthday celebration. I also saw online that IKEA has a sale. I don’t really need anything right now though but it’s up to 60% on some goods.

If you live in New York or New Jersey and need some new furniture or other things for your home, you should definitely go there. There are free shuttle buses from Times Square on 42nd Street.

Some luck

I was pretty lucky today. As I mentioned before, I was pretty lazy this weekend so the only homework I did was the accounting and I read the short story. I had also written down a marketing assignment with due today, but I assumed we were supposed to do that in class. However, when the class started, my teacher wanted us to hand that in.

People in the class told him it wasn’t due until Wednesday though and he believed them. Thanks to this, I can hand it in without being late. This doesn’t happen often so I’m pretty happy about that.

Next Monday is Memorial Day and I don’t have school. I have a long weekend beginning on Friday as usual. I might go out to take some pictures but I’m not sure yet.

I’m thinking about cancelling my membership at the gym. It is summer now and they charge me $60 each month. Since I don’t do weight lifting at all, I don’t feel that I need the gym, and I can as well run or walk outside.

I talked to my girlfriend about this and she thought that it was a great idea. Not only because we can spend even more time together, but because we now can take long walks together, a couple of times every week.

I also need to call AT&T. They are currently my phone service provider. I have the $39.99 plan which fits me great. The only problem is that they charge me over $60 every month. I really think that there is something weird about that. I asked them once and they started talking about all kinds of fees that I don’t know anything about.

I also asked a friend in school and he said they only charges him about $40 every month, and he has the same plan as I do. I really hate hidden fees.

I will go to tutoring again tomorrow. I just finished correcting my mistakes from English paper that my first tutor helped me with. The paper is great but I want my English teacher to look at it too since he will be the one grading it.

He is an author so I guess that is why he’s extra picky. It is really good though and I learn a lot from my mistakes.

I ate the last of my spaghetti today. I cooked it three days ago and I’ve eaten it every day since then. I cooked pretty much just so that I won’t need to cook every day. I can just put it in the microwave.

I heard about a place in Queens that is called Beer Garden or similar. I might go there with a friend later this week. It sounds pretty nice. You can buy a beer inside and after that you can drink it in a big garden on a lawn or something. If the weather is nice, I might go there just to check it out. I won’t stay late though.

I think they open at 5pm so I will probably go there by then and leave an hour later. There are usually a lot of people, especially during the weekend so I think it’s a good idea to be there early and not during weekend.

Some events are coming up...

This weekend is really boring. I haven’t really done anything progressive at all. I have done some homework and I have to do some more today. I don’t really feel like going out either. I will cook some American breakfast soon to cheer me up a little.

I have my second English paper due on Wednesday. I went to the tutoring center last Friday and that was helpful. I will go there again on Tuesday too though. I want to do this only because my English teacher is tutoring that day, and I think that if he is the one correcting it, he can’t really give me other than an A if I do all the changes he tells me to do.

I have started using the computer program Skype now. It’s really good but my bank keeps blocking my payment for buying credits. I have to give my bank a call about that. I think it is pretty good that they are careful though since Skype is an internet company.

I really recommend students to use Skype. You can make really cheap international calls and that will save you a lot of money. The reception is also always really good.

I think I will go out with a friend this coming week or weekend. It’s been a while since I hung out with him and I haven’t had a beer in a long time. I don’t want to go out too late though. Since I met my girlfriend, I’m simply not in the mood for late night partying.

I just read that there is an event at the Brooklyn Bridge May 22. I have heard that they are building a giant waterfall underneath it and I will go to check that out. I am not sure if it will be related to the 125th birthday of the bridge though. I think it will look really nice!

There is also an IKEA opening in Red Hook, Brooklyn this summer. There will be free ferry service between the IKEA and Manhattan which is good since there isn’t any subway nearby. I will go there with my girlfriend to check that out and by some Swedish chocolate.

I will also start taking some more pictures after this week. I haven’t used my camera in a long time so I think it’s time to do so. I might go to the Bronx Zoo and take some pictures there. I haven’t been at a zoo for a while and the Bronx Zoo is supposed to be huge.

I really want to see the tigers so I will wait a few weeks before I go there. I don’t think they let the tigers out until later.

I have to read a short story for Monday. It’s not that short actually. I think it took me about an hour to read so I am not really in the mood to read it again. I have to do it though since there will be a quiz as usual.

My friend in Seattle invited me to stay at his family’s place if I go there this coming break. It’s really nice of him, and I will consider doing so. I really want to see the west coast. New York seems to be so different from the rest of the United States so I’m looking forward to do that.

Sick passenger

I have gotten back my midterms this week and I’m really happy about the result. This Monday I got back my quiz in marketing. My professor asked everyone to applause because I got 100 out of 100. That was very encouraging and fun.

After that class I had my second midterm in PowerPoint presentations. We were using the book for the test so it wasn’t that hard.

I only had one class yesterday and that was accounting. I was a little nervous about getting my test back since I knew I didn’t do the last question right. I got a good feeling when the teacher entered the room though because he was greeting me in a very mannerly way. I got 198 out of 202 and the teacher also gave everyone 16 extra credits so I actually got 214 out of 202. I can’t complain about that.

I got home early so I spent some lovely time with my girlfriend. I was really tired so we took a nap together. Afternoon naps are definitely really pleasurable. We took the train later that day and something terrible happened.

Sometimes when you ride the train they stop because of a sick passenger. When my girlfriend and I were riding the train yesterday there was a young woman fainting right behind me. Luckily there was a doctor of some kind on the train. He laid her down and tried to keep her conscious. The train stopped at the next stop and they notified the paramedics.

My girlfriend and I switched train shortly afterwards because there was another train arriving. It’s a little scary when things like that happen but it’s good to know that there are people who will care.

I got back my midterm in math and marketing today. My marketing teacher did the same procedure as he did with the quizzes. When he gave me my test he told everyone to applaud. I got 100 out of 100 on both the quiz and the midterm. That feels really good and it has boosted my confidence even more.

I also looked up my grade for the midterms in PowerPoint. I got top score on those ones too. This has been a really good week when it comes to grades.

I will try to exercise a little harder from now on. I have been a little lazy lately and I haven’t had the time to be that serious about it. I won’t work out too hard though since I want to enjoy life too. I think I will go there about three or four times a week.

If I do that I can lose some weight and in two month I can start eating and enjoying life again. I am still thinking about what I should do this upcoming break after this quarter. It’s only six weeks left actually. I might go to Seattle but I am not sure yet.

I need to do some accounting now. I have three exercises to do for tomorrow. I’m really not in the mood for it though. I wish I could be spending time with my girlfriend instead.

Dinner at Planet Hollywood

I am so stuffed right now. I cooked spaghetti with mushrooms and minced meat. I also put corn, pepper and parmesan cheese on it. I think it’s a Swedish recipe and it turned out great. My girlfriend really liked it too.

My grades from the midterms haven’t been posted on the online intranet yet. I’m really curious about it so I hope it gets posted soon.

My girlfriend and I went to Planet Hollywood yesterday. It’s a really nice place with great music and food. We had the spareribs and we got totally stuffed afterwards. The food was good but the barbeque gravy is a little too sweet. The total size of the ribs is about 40x15 cm big.

They also have a great milkshake. It tastes amazing actually and we ordered one milkshake and one smoothie. The smoothie is called bananarama and it contains bananas, strawberries, and chocolate. It’s heavenly.

After dinner we went to Toys R’ Us in Times Square. It’s a huge toy store with really cool stuff. I have never been on the second floor before so we went there and they have huge statues made out of Lego. It’s a heaven for kids and I pretty much like it too! Maybe it’s because it’s really American.

It reminds me of the movie “Home Alone,” and I really like that they put down so much effort to entertain kids. It’s actually amazing that they do that. My girlfriend and I also tried out some Mickey Mouse hats. They look really cute actually.

There is also a huge moving dinosaur on the second floor and you can also see King Kong climbing Empire State Building made of Lego. If you haven’t seen that and you are in New York you should definitely check that out.

Today has been a pretty lazy day for both my girlfriend and I. We took a walk this morning to Burger King for some “real” breakfast and after that, we walked to a grocery store to get the ingredients for the spaghetti.

Today we will go out to see “Ironman.” There are a bunch of movies we think are good but we think that “Ironman” is the best movie to see in a theater. We can see “Made of Honor” at home when it’s released on DVD.

Tomorrow will be a little boring because I have to do some homework. I have accounting and I have to draw a map for the short story in English. I also have to do laundry so I hope the weather will be bad. It’s really warm nowadays and I think I will buy an air conditioning machine soon.

Busy week finally over!

This busy week has finally come to an end! It feels really good now. I had the marketing midterm yesterday and I think it went really good. I don’t want to say too much though. I will get back the result on Monday.

I had the accounting midterm today and I feel a little worried about it. My teacher didn’t tell us that he would ask questions about the income statement so I only practiced for one other financial statement. This turned out to be a mistake since the last two questions dealt with cost of goods sold and net income.

I tried to do my best though and if I only manage to get full credits on the other questions, I will still end up with an A. I still tried doing the last two questions so I think I might get some points for it anyway. I will get back the result on Tuesday.

I was really not in the mood for math yesterday and I was lucky! The class was cancelled and I could go home early. When I got home I discovered I didn’t bring the keys for the front door. No one was home so I had to wait for my girlfriend for two hours.

It was okay though. The weather was beautiful so I took a long walk through my neighborhood and discovered a couple of new stores and other places. It was pretty nice actually and I sat down on a bench, enjoying the weather and read a book.

I’m being totally lazy today. Not much happened in my computer class today and I didn’t get my test back. I went home and watched TV. After that I went out to buy ice cream. I bought my favorite one, which is Edy’s.

My girlfriend and I were trying to watch the movie “P.S. I Love You,” but it was really slow. Hilary Swank is a great actress but the movie has a very poignant atmosphere. I think people really have to be in the mood for sad movies like this to be able to watch the whole movie.

It’s really warm today but it’s very cloudy outside and it’s raining irregularly. We have the fan on most of the day and that helps a little. I’m seriously thinking about buying an air conditioning system though. It’s about $100 so I guess it’s affordable and it would definitely be worth it.

My girlfriend and I will go to Planet Hollywood this weekend. After that we will probably go out to see a movie. We are thinking about seeing either Ironman or “Maid of Honor.”

We don’t have a quiz in English on Monday. Instead we have a take home assignment. We are going to read a story as usual but instead of answering questions, we will draw a map. I seriously hate drawing but I guess I’ll have to do my best. I have already made a sketch. I did that while watching “P.S. I Love You.”

I also have to do some accounting this weekend and I will write my second term paper for my English class. The draft is due on Wednesday so I will not put down to much effort on it this weekend.

More studying...

I only had one class today which was really nice. I finished school around 9.30 AM. I usually go to the gym on Tuesday’s but I skipped it today because of my upcoming midterms. I have my marketing midterm tomorrow morning and I feel confident about it.

I haven’t studied for it today because I feel as if I know everything there is to know about it. As I mentioned before, we had a quiz this last Monday. I studied all my notes and everything I had for that quiz so I guess that’s why I don’t have to study for tomorrow.

I studied for the accounting midterm today instead. That midterm is on Thursday and I am a little more worried about that one. We had a review for it today so now I know what kind of questions that will show up on the test.

I have done all the homework assignment today and I think I know everything. I will go over it again tomorrow after school just in case.

I’m looking forward to the weekend. This has been a very busy week and I just want to get it over with. I’m not sure in what to do this weekend but I’m thinking about taking my girlfriend to Planet Hollywood to eat some great barbeque.

I usually eat a hamburger when I’m there but I’m planning on ordering spareribs instead. I have actually tried that before when I was here in 2004, and it is amazing. What I like about that restaurant is that they give you a lot on the plate and of course that it tastes great.

I cut myself when I was cooking with my girlfriend today. I was cutting potatoes in small pieces and the knife slipped. The wound got pretty deep but it feels okay. I must say it was worth it because the food turned out great!

We were pretty lazy today so we fried some bacon with eggs and I made mashed potato. We had to go out to buy potatoes today for the dinner, and when we went home and open the potato bag we noticed that the potatoes were old. They smelled like a dead bird and were old. We had to go back to the store and get some other potatoes.

I will never buy potatoes that are sealed in a bag anymore. It’s better to pick them yourself so that you can get the best ones. Anyway, we got our money back, new potatoes, and I was able to cook some delicious food.

I will go over my marketing notes one more time before I go to bed today. I will presumably read the notes on the train tomorrow too, just to be one the safe side.

Studying

Yesterday was Sunday and I pretty much stayed inside the whole day. It was pretty nice though. My girlfriend and I studied a lot. We went out for an hour just to get some fresh air and something to eat.

I had two quizzes and a midterm today. The first quiz was my marketing quiz and it felt really good. We were given the answer after everyone had taken the quiz and I think I’ll get an A on it. My teacher said though, that it doesn’t matter if you fail the quiz, the midterm is what is really important.

It’s a very intelligent teacher. I would guess that the reason he gives us the quiz two days before the midterm is to prepare us for the midterm. Most students only study the day before the midterm but that is changed because of the quiz. It covered everything that we’ve talked about so you had to study exactly what you have to study for in the midterm.

The only difference is that the quiz asked us for definitions and the midterm will be actual company dilemmas. He might for example ask us how to improve Dr. Pepper. It will be seven questions and each question is worth about 15 points.

I’m actually looking forward to the midterm a little. I also had a midterm today in computer essentials. We are learning PowerPoint and it was pretty easy. My teacher made a mistake though. He gives everyone a different test and the one I got had questions about chapter four in the book. We have only discussed chapter one, two, and three.

I did all the questions though and turned in the test. I think I got everything right, but if there is anything that I didn’t do right about the chapter four questions, I will definitely let the teacher know about it. I told him that we haven’t studied that material and he told me he knew and that it was alright.

Today I’m studying for the accounting midterm. It takes place on Thursday and I’m trying to get myself prepared for it. I feel pretty confident about it actually. I also got back my English paper today. I got an A and my teacher really liked it. He copied it and gave all students a copy so that they would know how to get an A. I felt a little weird about that but I'm happy that he liked it!

Several times every month there are different activities for students at Berkeley College. I happened to see one activity today that would suit me. Students will go to New Jersey by bus to play Paintball. It sounds pretty fun actually and I have never done it before.

I was thinking about doing it in Sweden but I never got the opportunity to do it. It’s only $50 and it’s a good way to meet students. I mostly want to do it for the thrill though. I have heard that it kind of hurts to get hit so I can imagine how thrilling it must be. I will most likely bring some friends if I go there, but I don’t know if I will attend though.

I need to think about it for some time. Now it’s time for some accounting!

Macy's

Yesterday was a great day for me! I did my marketing assignment and my accounting homework. The only thing I have to do now is to study my notes for my marketing quiz on Monday and to read the short story one more time. I’m thinking about looking over my accounting too since I have a midterm on that on Thursday.

The marketing assignment took more than two hours to do but it was interesting. I feel that I already know a lot about business. Maybe it’s because my parents are both great businessmen. It feels a little as though I have the whole business concept in my blood.

I’m going to Macy’s today with my girlfriend. She wants to look up some clothes and jewelry. It will be fun to get out a little. As I’ve mentioned before, this weekend will be spent mostly inside since I have to study. I will also bring my marketing notes on the train to read them there, and to not make my girlfriend bored I’ll let her test me on my notes.

My girlfriend and I went out shopping groceries yesterday. We have this giant blue cart we bring with us when we need to shop a lot. The supermarket is about twenty minutes away by subway so it’s very convenient to bring it.

I think that most people using carts like that are seniors but I’m so sick of walking around with extremely heavy shopping bags. We bought four packs of Pepsi, which all have twelve bottles in them. The first time we bought that we carried it from the store, on the subway, and back home. It was too heavy.

I’ve sent a lot of packages to Sweden lately. My mother will receive something and so will my grandfather. Many people wonder how much it costs to ship packages internationally. I can only speak for Sweden though. To send an average sized package, let’s say it’s about 50x50cm and 20cm deep. I give you cm since I suppose that most people reading my blog are outside the U.S. Anyway, that would cost about $20.

This is, however, without insurance and with an estimate deliver time of ten days. I always pick that one though since it’s the cheapest one and I have never experienced a problem with it. Some people say that the U.S. Postal Service is not reliable. I don’t agree with that since I only have had good experiences. What are fairly bad though are the post offices.

It’s better in Manhattan than in Brooklyn but some offices there are also pretty slow. The lines are always pretty long and you’ll have to wait about half an hour every time you want to ship something. We had the same problem in Sweden a couple of years ago but they changed the system so that you could do your postal errands at local supermarkets.

This really improved the system. I’m not sure it would work in New York but maybe it would. Anyway, that’s the only thing I have to complain about when it comes to the postal service. I don’t like to complain, and I won’t as long as my packages continue to arrive at its destinations in time.

Busy week coming up!

I have the busiest week in my school life coming up. I will have three midterms and two quizzes next week. I also have a fairly large assignment in marketing for Monday. One of the midterms will be very easy and I don’t have to worry about that. It’s about Microsoft PowerPoint and I feel that I know almost everything there is to know.

The other midterm is in marketing. On Monday I have to turn in the marketing assignment and I also have a quiz the same day in the same class. I don’t think that the quiz will be that hard though and it’s given to us so that we will get more prepared for the midterm. I think that’s a good strategy from the teacher even though I feel that he could have postponed the midterm to next week.

The midterm takes place on Wednesday but I don’t think that I have to study that much for it. I will cover almost everything this weekend so I don’t think this weekend will be that fun. I will go to Macy’s with my girlfriend though. I want to spend as much time as possible with her.

The other midterm I have is in accounting. I’m a little worried about it but I should be able to review everything this weekend. I felt really good after today actually. We are studying the process costing system and that is pretty complicated. I was totally lost the first day my professor covered it, but today everything really started to make sense.

It’s a great teacher and I really think he’s aware of how to teach his students in the right way. I hope I will get A’s on all quizzes and midterms next week. Cross your fingers for me people!

The other quiz I have is in English. I have that every Monday and it’s on different short stories that we read. We had to read two stories last time and we had a double quiz on them. This time it’s a story about a lesbian woman who attends her old girlfriend’s wedding. It’s a fun story to read actually. It’s called “Braids” and is written by David Leavitt.

Today after school I wrote down all my notes in Word. I ended up with five pages in size 10. It’s really good to do this though. First of all, you review everything one more time and second, you’ll get a really good layout that is easier to read.

One good thing about my midterm in PowerPoint next week is that my professor is splitting the class in two parts. One part will do the test on Monday and the other part will to it on Tuesday. I will do it on Monday which is great! Because of this, I only have one class on Tuesday so I can go home and study for my marketing and accounting midterm.

I’m going to celebrate my weekend now. I just ate some chicken with rice and potatoes. My girlfriend and I are really good on cooking that dish. My girlfriend is amazing with spicing food. It always turns out amazing! Yummie!
