Take-Home Midterm

I had my test in macroeconomics yesterday. I think I did fine and it was a little easier than what I expected it to be.

The test consisted of 50 multiple-choice questions and one essay question. I did the essay question first because I like to get rid of the hard stuff first.

I was really tired in the morning so I bought iced coffee at Starbucks to drink in class. One negative thing when it comes to iced coffee is that the cup becomes pretty wet as time passes.

I accidently put my scantron sheet next to my coffee because I wanted to check the essay question one last time. The table was pretty wet there because of the coffee so my scantron paper became useless, and I had to fill in a new sheet.

That was pretty annoying because it takes a while to fill it in. It also made me a little nervous because it is easy to make a mistake when you copy another paper like that. I think I did everything right though.

I went to Chinatown in Manhattan today. I did not do that much though but I had one of my favorite dishes, chow mein. It was a little different than normal chow mein because it contained a lot of onion and mushroom. It tasted good though.

I have to do a take home midterm this weekend. I was thinking about doing it today but I didn’t really get in the mood for it. I will probably do it tomorrow or the day after. I have looked it over so I know what to write about it. I have a few good ideas.

The take home is more of a case actually. It is about creating a strategy for a company called Parker. They experienced some big problems concerning, among other things, decentralization and economy of scale.

It is really interesting so I will probably enjoy doing it. The festival in my neighborhood will end after this weekend. I am glad that it does actually because the food is just too expensive. I thought festival food would be cheap, but I was obviously wrong.

Test Tomorrow

I have a test in macroeconomics tomorrow so I have studied for it today. My fiancée invited her friend for dinner this evening though so I did not study that much.

The test is not that easy. It is about calculating GDP, different indexes, and unemployment rates. It is very interesting actually and I learn a lot from that class.

I think that it is important for everyone to know the basics of macroeconomics. Understanding supply and demand and how it affects prices would reduce the amount of unwise arguments a whole lot.

The dinner tonight was very nice. My fiancée and her friend cooked while I studied and they surprised me with a Chinese cake for dessert. Everything tasted great, including a very sweet American wine.

The only downside of the dinner was that I missed the “Top Model” final. However, I am not that into the show and I knew who the winner would be. Spending the evening by having a great dinner is definitely better.

I will look over my macroeconomics notes one more time before I go to sleep but I think I know most of it.

I will probably be very tired when I wake up tomorrow and the test is in the morning. I will definitely buy a Starbucks coffee on my way to school.

I was going to sell my Swedish laptop on craigslist yesterday. I got a quick response and I thought that it was my lucky day. I did some research though, and I found out that the person contacting me was a scammer.

Be careful when using craigslist in any way. Several scammers use it and many people get fooled from being to careless. I am happy that I noticed this before I shipped my computer.

Organizing

I just organized all my papers. It took a few hours but everything is where it is supposed to be now, and it will be a lot easier to find the papers I need.

I have been looking for cheap binders for quite a while but it is really hard to find. It is really cheap in Sweden so I was surprised to realize that Staples charges an approximate amount of $5.

I found a few websites that offers cheap binders but then you will have to pay freight for another $10. Today, I finally found the place I was looking for, a 99-cent store.

I only paid $1 for each binder so I bought eight of them. I also had to buy a hole-puncher and that wasn’t easy to find either. They look different in Sweden because we usually have four holes in each paper, compared to the United States standard of three holes.

The ones here in the States are therefore wider. I wasn’t sure of what a hole-puncher was called either, which made the whole situation worse. However, I finally found out and was able to buy one at Walgreens.

I believe that it is really important to organize your documents. Not only because it will be easier to find it, but also because you will find old stuff that you can throw away to save space. I now have eight folders filled with documents, containing everything from schoolwork to receipts.

I actually saw another arrest today. I wrote about a car accident about a week ago, which involved an arrest. On my way to the bank today, I saw police arresting a man at the same intersection where the car accident took place.

This is a safe neighborhood so it feels weird that I have seen two arrests in one week. At the same time, it feels good that the cops are doing their job.

I will go out to eat something at the festival tonight. There are so much good food everywhere so it will be hard to chose. I will keep posting pictures from the festival in a few more blogs.

Festival

There is some kind of festival going on in my neighborhood right now. It is really cool actually because they have everything from clowns to good food.

I am getting used to my Macbook. It is always hard to type on a new laptop at first but it is easy on this one actually because the keypad has a lot of space in between the keys.

Two days ago, my fiancée and I had American breakfast at a diner close to our home. We both had a pancake platter and we put a lot of syrup and butter on them. I just love American breakfasts.

A Walgreens store opened up in my neighborhood a few days ago. I went to check it out but it looks like any other store out there. They have a few good deals going on right now so I bought some white t-shirts. I don’t think I will go there very often though.

The festival in my neighborhood is awesome. It is very American because of the clowns, candy, drinks, and food. One thing I really like is a clown in a cage. People throw balls in attempt to make him fall down into water.

It’s not only fun because of him falling down into the water, but he is also a great comedian. He is heckling and making jokes out of people and his laugh is unbeatable.

I haven’t tried the food there yet. The only thing I tried there were fried Oreos. Oreos must be the most popular cookie in New York because it is everywhere. I definitely didn’t believe that you could fry it but it actually tastes good.

My fiancée and I couldn’t sleep yesterday because we were too hungry. Luckily, there is a Dunkin Donuts five minutes away that is open 24/7. We bought a dozen donuts, which always taste great.

We actually one Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog each too. Since we bought so many donuts, we are actually eating it for breakfast too. I know it is not the healthiest of foods, but it is wonderfully tasty.

I have to study for my macroeconomics test today. I have studied a little this weekend but I definitely need a few more hours. I have until Thursday though so I won’t stress myself out because of it.

New MacBook

I have finally bought the laptop that I have been talking about for half a year. I am actually glad that I waited because they are so much faster now and I got an unbeatable deal.

I bought the faster version of Apple’s Macbook and I must say that I am very happy with it.

It’s fast, smooth, and good-looking. Everything seems to be faster than on my old laptop, even the Internet. I must say that I am a little unfamiliar with the Macintosh interface but other than that, I love it.

This computer will come in great use for college and in writing my blog. I can bring it to school and use wireless Internet. I am really looking forward to bring it outside so that I can sit at Starbucks and do my homework.

My room looks a little freaky right now because I have the TV, three laptops, and my IPod Touch running at the same time. I have to transfer some files so it is not because I am a geek.

I really recommend students who need a computer to go to Apple before September. They have an unbeatable deal right now. If you are a student, you will get a $100 discount.

You will also get a free IPod Touch and a free printer. You will actually have to pay for it at first but they will give you a paper with information after the purchase and you will then be able to apply for the rebate online. You will later receive a check from Apple.

I saved a total of $400. The printer is an all-in-one with functions like scanning, faxing, and printing of course. At first I was thinking about selling the printer and buy a laser printer but after a second thought I thought that I should keep it.

I did the review questions for macroeconomics yesterday and it was actually harder than what I thought it would be. I am happy that I did this early because it will give me more time to prepare for the test.

I am following the Olympic Games every day but I mostly see the American teams because I only have NBC available at home.

United States is currently in the lead when it comes to the medal count but I think that China almost has the double amount of gold medals. I like watching beach volleyball and basketball and the States is doing great in that right now.

Starbucks

I have fallen in love with Starbucks coffee. I go there a few times a week and I always order the same thing: iced venti vanilla latte with skim milk and sugar free vanilla.

It is a complicated drink to order, but it is definitely worth it. Many people would think it to be silly to order skim milk and sugar free vanilla, but I actually save myself from a lot of calories by doing so. The taste is basically the same. I do not taste much difference to be honest.

I am still waiting for the decision about the ticket I got in the subway. It is getting a little frustrating because I called them and they told me that I have to send them a mail and tell them that I have not yet received the response, or to go there in person.

It sounds as if they want me to go to look for my own bill. It is all a little ridiculous actually. I don’t have time to deal with things like this but I don’t know if they can put me responsible for not paying my bill, even though they never sent it to me.

I will go there tomorrow just to be on the safe side.

I had a test in advertising and promotion today and I think I did well. It was a multiple choice test and I was prepared for it. I am pretty sure that I will get an A.

I also got a take home assignment in international marketing today. It is actually more of a midterm than an assignment because it is worth the same amount of points as a midterm. I am excited about doing it because it involves business decisions and how to deal with different problems from a business leader’s perspective.

I will be a little busy these days because of that, but I almost have two weeks to do it so I do not have to do everything this weekend.

I have my second test in macroeconomics next Thursday. My teacher has posted some review questions online that I will practice on later. I feel well prepared for that test. Macroeconomics is one of my favorite subjects so I find it fairly easy to learn.

The Beach and a Car Accident

Today was a really fun day. It started off with a car accident and after that, my fiancée and I went to the beach.

I wanted to eat out this morning so we went to a local diner and had some breakfast. I had a pancake platter with hash brownies and scrambled eggs and my fiancée had a huge roast beef sandwich.

It was the first time that I was there and I think that I will go there again. It is very affordable and the food is good.

When we were walking home we saw a speeding car running red lights and crashing into two other cars. It took place just 10 meters away from us but people handled it fairly calmly.

It took about two minutes before help arrived. There were a few minor injuries but nothing looked to be too serious. As you can see in one of the pictures, police arrested one man. Everything was pretty exciting to watch actually.

Two cars were totally wrecked and I think that the car that crashed into the other cars, actually was on sale.

I checked my grade online for the international marketing test today. I was positively surprise to find out that I got an A on the test. I was a little worried that I would get a B actually so I am very happy with the result.

It will be very interesting to see the test tomorrow so that I can see how many points I got and what mistakes I made.

After the car accident today, my fiancée and I went to the beach. We have always wanted to check out Long Beach so we took the train there. We bought some subway sandwiches and snacks so we were prepared for a long day at the beach.

We were very disappointed when we got there though. Long Beach is not really nice actually. There are not many people there and we didn’t know the area well enough. It also takes a long time to go there. I think we spent about one and a half hours on the train.

We took the train back right after we arrived there but we decided to go to Coney Island instead. We arrived there at about 3.30 PM so the weather was still nice and warm. There were a lot of people but it was still plenty of room for us.

I didn’t swim but I dipped my feet in the water because I had to watch our valuables. It was a great day and when we came home, we had meatballs with rice and cabbage.

I finished my assignment for advertising and promotion this evening so I am ready to go to school tomorrow.

Dumplings

I don’t know what is best, sushi or dumplings. Yesterday was a beautiful day and I spent it in Central Park with my fiancée.

They have set up some sort of amusement park in Central Park but it is for kids so I did not enter. It seems to be a great place for children though. They have clowns, small roller coasters, and candy.

My fiancée and I walked around mostly and enjoyed the weather. It is amazing how green central park is. It is really beautiful and there are actually not too many people there.

We will go there again next week and we will also bring some food and beverages so that we can stay there a little longer.

We bought a lot of sushi on our way home. I think I paid $25 for about 70 pieces. There is a place close to Chinatown in Manhattan that sells really cheap but good sushi. It was delicious but it was too much to finish so we ate the rest of it today.

My fiancée and I cooked our own dumplings today. It was the first time for me and it was pretty fun. We made two different dumplings, a few with crab meat and the other ones with beef. It turned out great, especially for being the first time for us.

It looks a little creepy on the picture but it tastes great. If you don’t know what it is, you should definitely check it out online. People usually buy it frozen because it takes too long to make it yourself.

I almost finished my assignment for advertising and promotion today. I need to add some more information though and make a few adjustments. I will do it tomorrow because I am too tired to do it tonight.

I am thinking about buying the Apple Macbook laptop. I need to consider if I really need it though because I don’t want to spend a lot of money unnecessarily. I am really tempted in buying it though and all Berkeley College students get a $100 discount.

Chow Mein

I have discovered a new dish, “Chow Mein.” It is delicious and consists of noodles and various vegetables.

My fiancée and I first had it in Flushing but I had no idea what it was called. I found out today though so we took the train to Chinatown in Brooklyn to eat it.

We were not so sure if they would have it there but I had faith. After walking around for a while, we finally found it. As expected, it tasted delicious.

I looked up the recipe online today so I think I will try cooking it this weekend.

There is another thunderstorm here today. It was beautiful this afternoon but there is almost always a storm in the evening. I just find it odd because I am not used to see that many thunderstorms. I somehow like it though.

I did all my 72 review questions for my advertising and promotion test today. It feels good to be done with that because it takes a lot of time and it is not that fun to search for things in the book for several hours.

I was planning to book a reservation ticket for the Statue of Liberty today but they are sold out. There will probably be another storm tomorrow but it is supposed to be beautiful on Sunday so I might go to check out the balloon at Central Park that day.

I really want to take some night shots with my camera soon. I am thinking about going to Times Square to get some action packed pictures or Queens for skyline shots. I am tempted in buying a new lens because the one I have only has a range of 24-70mm, which does not offer that much zoom.

The lenses are expenses though so I am not sure yet if I should buy it or not.

I just realized how big my assignment for advertising and promotion is. It will take several hours to do it and I have to do it for Tuesday. That leaves me with plenty of time but I would rather spend those hours with my fiancée.

My family will come to visit me in September and I am really looking forward to that. I am sure that they will have an awesome time here, especially the kids. They will love the “Toys R Us,” store at Times Square and I will show them around and let them see some things many tourists won’t think about.

My First B?

I had my international marketing test today and I didn’t feel as confident as I usually do. I actually think that this might turn out to be my first B on a test.

I don’t worry much about it though. We have two more tests and I will definitely do my best on them and I don’t doubt that I will end up with an A in this class.

I felt that the test was hard mainly because there were things that I wasn’t prepared for. The teacher told us that there would be ten concepts and that we had to know them. He didn’t tell us which ones though.

I listed and typed down my notes about all the concepts that I could remember we talked about but, obviously, it wasn’t enough.

Every student I talked to in class had troubles with the test. Many also got upset about it because they didn’t know how to prepare for it. I don’t really think it is an excuse though because we have talked about all of it in class.

It was a little harder to prepare for if you compare it to other tests though. I will be fine, however, so now I am focusing on the weekend.

I have a few assignments to do for Tuesday and I also have another test in advertising and promotion next Thursday. All students got review questions for that test so that one is a lot easier to prepare for than the international marketing test.

I have a few hours of studying to do this weekend including finding an article about macroeconomics and summarize it. I also need to do an assignment in advertising and promotion but I haven’t looked into that one yet.

There was a big thunderstorm here today. It’s amazing how many thunderstorms there is every month. They are really big too and the flashes lights up the sky a lot. There are always warnings issued on television about it but I haven’t heard about any major accidents caused by the thunderstorm.

I am not sure of what to do this weekend. I might go to the balloon ride event in Central Park with my fiancée, but I am not sure yet. If the weather allows it, I would love to do it though.

Bronx Zoo

I finally went to Bronx Zoo with my fiancée and we had a really good time. We started off having breakfast at Dunkin Donuts which, by the way, wasn’t so great. The bread was too dry and the iced coffee I had didn’t taste that good.

I don’t think that is a fair description of Dunkin Donuts though because I normally like their food and beverages, especially the donuts.

On Wednesdays, Bronx Zoo has donation day. That means that people can donate the amount they believe is reasonable. My fiancée and I were really lucky because just when it was our turn to pay, the cashier let us in because she wanted to count everyone so we didn’t have to pay anything.

They have a recommended rate of $15 per person and the minimum recommended rate is $5. I was prepared to pay the $5 but I never had to.

The zoo is amazing and really big. We spent five hours there and we didn’t have the time to see everything. My priority was to see the lions and the tigers because I have never seen that before.

There were a lot of people, which got a little annoying from time to time, but it was alright. I took many great shots with my camera and the experience of being there was really nice.

It takes a while to get there because it is pretty far into Bronx. I seriously believe that the air is better in Bronx than in the rest of New York City. When we got off the train, we felt the change in air quality right away. People will probably think I am joking about that but I am actually serious.

The lions were really far away from the viewpoint, which was a little disappointing but at least I saw them. The tigers got really close and there was glass separating the tigers from the people so it was easy to see them.

We also saw sea lions, birds, giraffes, bears, and a lot more. One thing that really surprised me was that they had a polar bear there. I have never seen that and I didn’t know that they could enjoy the weather climate over here.

My fiancée and I got really hungry today though and the food at Bronx Zoo is crazy expensive. We will definitely bring our own food the next time we will go there. A lot of people do exactly that actually.

I am really happy with the trip because I have been talking about it for very long. The subway ride there went a lot better than the last time too and on our way back we had some McDonald’s food to please our stomachs.

I have a test tomorrow so I have to study for that. I haven’t studied too much these days but I think I know most of it. I will keep you posted about the results.

$100 Fine

Last weekend was fairly boring actually. The weather was bad and I stayed inside for most of the weekend.

I got a ticket for not swiping my card in the subway last week. That was really annoying actually because I thought that I would get off with a warning.

What happened was that there were a lot of people in the subway and people were walking through the exit gate, which happens now and then. I walk along and since I have a monthly unlimited ride metro card I didn’t think much of it.

You have to swipe your card in the machine before entering but I didn’t do that. This was actually the first and only time I had ever done anything like this and of course there was a police officer standing by.

He stopped me and asked me to show my metro card, which I did and then he started to take my information. He didn’t want me to go back and swipe it so after waiting for 15 minutes he gave me the ticket.

I was shocked when I saw how much it was, $100. The first question I asked the police officer was where I could go to complain. He gave me the information that I needed and two days after that I went to a hearing in Brooklyn.

That was interesting actually because I have never done anything like that before. I gathered some paperwork to prove that I own an unlimited ride metro card and that I have paid for a card like that since I came here.

What happens is that people will go to an office that looks like a nice post office. Then you will get in line for a hearing. A person will tape and question you about the situation and after that you will get the results.

I didn’t have to show them any evidence because they assumed that everything I told them was true. I have to wait for the response though because they want to compare my case with the ticket that the police officer wrote.

I can understand that I get a ticket even though there were other people entering the gate. However, fining me $100 is outrageous. I think that they will probably lower the amount or write of the ticket for me. I don’t know yet though but I will let you know when I get the answer.

Until then, follow the rules in the subway, strictly!

Flushing

My fiancée and I went to Chinatown yesterday. There are three Chinatown’s in New York. There is one each in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens.

People say that the one in Queens is the biggest one, but I doubt it. It was really fun to be there though because they have really good food. We had some noodles, Chinese pancakes, fish, and a lot more.

It takes a while to get there because it is the last stop with the “7” train. We left from Times Square which is the first stop with “7” train and the ride to the last stop called Flushing took about 30 minutes.

I need to type down some notes from my international marketing class today. I haven’t studied at all yet so I feel that it is time to do so today. Everything students need to know is on the syllabus, which is good.

I am going to type down the definitions and some other information today so that I can study on my way home from school tomorrow. I have about 40 minutes to spend on the train from school and I really like that actually because it makes it possible for me to study a little.

I am not sure of what to do today. I will eat some breakfast and after that I will probably go out and do something. The weather looks great so I might go to the beach or something like that.

The Olympic Games have started now and I was watching the opening ceremony with my fiancée. It was a fantastic show actually and I am looking forward to see the competitions. Right now, I am watching USA beat China in basketball.

There has been one thing that I have missed from Sweden, a cheese slicer. I asked my mom to send me one and it arrived yesterday. They also sent me a certain cheese, which I love, so I am really happy now. I bought a toaster a while ago so I made some toast and had cheese on it. It really tastes good and it reminds me of Swedish taste.

I will go to IKEA to buy more cheese after I have eaten this one. In Sweden we eat a lot of cheese, especially on sandwiches. After coming to New York I stopped eating that for breakfast so it is nice to try it again.

I am thinking about going to New Jersey again. I want to walk along the waterfront and take some pictures. The view from there is really nice and maybe I could take a few shots when the sun sets.

New Healthy Lifestyle

It is time for weekend again and I am looking forward for some rest. I really don’t need it since I only have two days in school a week but it is still nice.

I am not sure of what to do this weekend but my fiancée and I will surely find something to do. I don’t want to plan too much either because there is some severe weather coming this way.

There have been issued warnings for tornadoes and thunderstorms on television today. The tornadoes will form North West from New York City but they are moving South East so there is a small possibility that they will reach our neighborhood.

I have started to eat healthier lately and it is working out pretty good. I don’t want to be too extreme about it though. I am skipping my morning bagels before school and I eat fruit and early Lunch instead. I had a salad today actually and it was really good.

There are many places in New York that offer salads and most of them have a “make your own salad” alternative. There are usually a lot of ingredients to choose from and they have many fat free dressings.

I don’t think I will do this for long though. I rather eat whatever I want to eat and exercise after that. I love food too much to be on a diet.

I have some homework to do for next week. I need to calculate real GDP and nominal GDP for my macroeconomics class. I also have to study for my international marketing test on Thursday next week. It is all about different terms such as economy of scale and benchmarking.

It will be an essay kind of test but I think that if you know the terms, you will be able to answer the questions.

I really want to go to Bronx Zoo soon. It feels like I have postponed it for too long now. I saw that on Wednesdays they have some sort of donation fee so that people don’t have to pay the normal rate but instead donate what they think is appropriate.

There is, however, a recommended rate set for $15. My fiancée and I might go there that day because of that.

Scantron Tests

I have gotten back both of my tests now and I can’t be other than satisfied with it. There was one thing that upset me a little though even though it might sound a little ridiculous.

Both of the tests were multiple choice tests and everyone were using scantron sheets to write down their answers. The tests are then plugged into a machine that calculates the score and grade. It is important to mark the answer clearly with your pen, which I learned today.

I had one mistake on my macroeconomics test and the mistake I made was silly. The scantron machine marked my sheet as having a mistake and that the correct answer was “A.” I had answered “A,” but the machine didn’t scan it because I didn’t mark it good enough.

It really doesn’t matter since I got 98% on the test but it is still a little annoying just because of the principle that I was right. My teacher didn’t want to change, which I do not really understand but it is okay.

I got a few more assignments to do for next week but I will not do them until the weekend. I have had a small headache for a few days now and I really don’t have any idea of why. I think it might be the weather because I talked to a friend in school and she had also experienced headache for a few days.

New York is really extreme when it comes to weather, and in all other ways for that matter. In the summer it is really hot and in the winter it is really cold. That is why I really like the fall because the temperature is perfect.

Another reason why I like the fall is that the city becomes really beautiful and I am looking forward to take some photographs in that season. The colors are truly fantastic and seeing all the colorful leaves in Central Park is amazing.

Winter is also one of my favorite seasons because everything becomes calmer. If it is snowing outside everything becomes quieter and people tense to calm down. I first thought that it could only happen in small cities, such as the one I am from, in Sweden. However, it is definitely noticeable in New York too, which is very pleasant.

The heat really makes me tired too, and when I came home after school today I fell asleep. I usually never take afternoon naps but after these days’ headache and heat, I have just been exhausted.

I bought the new Guitar Hero’s game a few days ago. It is fun with some new songs and my fiancée and I now have one guitar each, which makes it fun for both of us. It is a really fun game especially when you don’t have anything better to do.

Governors Island

We never went to Bronx Zoo and the main reason of that was because of the New York MTA. I got really annoyed by the subway that day so we choose to skip the zoo and go to Governors Island instead.

My fiancée and I was in a good mood in the morning and we really wanted to go to the zoo. When we arrived to our local subway station we found out that there were no Manhattan bound trains. That was okay so we walked about 15 minutes to another station.

We then took that train to Atlantic Avenue to switch to the 5 train. We waited for about twenty minutes and then found out that there were no 5 trains from that station. It was really warm inside the subway and it really gets annoying when the trains are not working normally.

After that I had calmed down a little, we took the train to Wall Street instead. We had some ice coffee at McDonald’s and later took the boat to Governors Island. I have been there before but my fiancée has never been there.

It was actually a great decision because the boats to there are free and on Fridays they offer free bike rentals for one hour.

We had a great time there and it was a lot more fun than the last time when I was there alone. The bikes are in great condition and it is really enjoyable to ride them on the island because there are not many people around.

The day after that, which was yesterday, my fiancée and I decided to take the IKEA bus to New Jersey. We were really hungry when we got there so we had some Swedish meatballs there. That was really good and they also have a few cakes that taste delicious.

I had a chocolate cake and my fiancée had a vanilla almond cake. We actually didn’t buy furniture but we bought more frozen Swedish meatballs, chocolate, crackers, and Swedish bread.

I have already tried some chocolate and I love it. Swedish chocolate is amazing and if you go to IKEA, I really recommend you to try Marabou Milk Chocolate.

It will rain today so we will stay inside. If the weather turns out good, we might go to Long Beach. We have never been there before so we are both a little curious of what it looks like.

I have to do the extra credit assignment in advertising and promotion today. I think I will finish it in about 45 minutes.

Tests

This week is over and I have finished my two tests. The tests felt great and I received my score for the advertising and promotion test the same evening.

I got 24.1 out of 25 so I am happy with that. With my calculations, I think I got two questions wrong out of 62 questions. I also think I know which ones that is because I found out one mistake right after the test.

I am still waiting for the macroeconomics test but I am not very worried about it. It felt really good both after the test and while I was doing it.

It is always after the first test that you start to see how good your teacher really is. Every teacher has his or her own way of testing and it is always hard to know how to study for the first test. I am really happy with my teachers so far though, not only because of my results but because I actually learn a lot.

My fiancée and I will go to the Bronx Zoo today. I am really looking forward to that actually. I usually never go to visit zoos so this will be exciting.

The one thing I look forward to mostly is to see tigers. I am not sure about how it works but I think they have some sort of sessions that you book an appointment for. I will take a lot of pictures and I will probably post some of them here later.

I have two assignments to do this weekend. One is for advertising and promotion and is actually an extra credit assignment but I will definitely do it. It is about SWOT analysis and we are supposed to analyze Berkeley College.

I think that it is a fun idea because it will put us students in a real world situation.

The other assignment I have is in international marketing. As usually, it involves reading an article and answer questions about it. It is very straight forward and I won’t have any problems with it.

I was a little skeptic about that the teacher is using a lot of articles when lecturing, but it has actually turned out to be quiet effective. I learn a lot and I think that it is because the articles take you closer to the reality. Instead of reading about possible events in a textbook, students are actually reading about real world occurrences.

I am getting happier after every class with my teachers for this quarter. My third midterm will be in international marketing and I am curious about how it will be put together. Right now I don’t really know more than that it will deal with around ten categories.
